ENYCAR 2008 Regional Automotive Competition

From L-R: Dan Rothstein, Mercedes-Benz Service Manager; Rod Priddle, Shop Foreman; Michael Lafforthum, BOCES Student; Richard Sowle, BOCES student; Rick Walker, Shop Foreman

The ENYCAR 2008 Regional Automotive Technology Competition was held on January 11, 2008 at Hudson Valley Community College. Two-person teams from regional high school automotive programs worked on "bugged" vehicles as part of the competition. After training in the service department of the Mercedes-Benz Center at Keeler, two students from the F. Donald Myers Education Center, Richard Sowle and Michael Lafforthum, determined nine out of ten bugs in the car, rigged by Mercedes-Benz foreman Rod Priddle and Rick Walker. Congratulations to Richard and Michael for placing fourth in the competition and to Rod Priddle and Rick Walker for mentoring these young technicians!
